The southern leg of SR 79 is known as the Pinal Pioneer Parkway.

SR 79 is also designated with Historic US 80 shields.

SR 79 Business

SR 79 has a signed business route in Florence. This makes it the only Arizona state route with a signed business loop. It runs from SR 79 near the Central Arizona Project canal, north on Main St, past AZ 287. The highway turns east at Butte Ave to meet back up with SR 79. This is the route that US 80 took through Florence as signified by the Historic US 80 route shields.
