US 87
The Arizona Highway Department proposed an extension of US 87 into Arizona from its terminus at the time in Rawlins, Wyoming. US 87 would've ran from present day SR 61 at the New Mexico state line, and would've split into US 87W and 87E near Elfrida. US 87W would've went to Nogales while 87E would've went to Douglas. Ultimately, the proposal was unsuccessful and US 87 was never extended into Arizona. Instead, US 666, now US 191 was extended into Arizona along the proposed route of US 87 to Douglas.
