State Route 69 is the main route between Phoenix and Prescott. It originally ran from Prescott all the way into Phoenix, however I-17 took over its path from Cordes Lakes.

Length: 34 miles
Existed since: 1934
Current Route: I-17 in Cordes Lakes to AZ 89 in Prescott
1st Historical Route: Kingman to Boulder Dam site from 1934-1935
2nd Historical Route: Phoenix to Prescott from 1936-1968
Major Junctions: I-17, AZ 169, AZ 89

Cool Features

When SR 69 was upgraded from 2 to 4 lanes, the route was straightened considerably, so there are still many pieces of the old route being used as access roads.
